Peter and Carrie Jacobson live in Gales Ferry, Conn., with seven dogs and three cats.
Peter’s eye was trained, early on, in the woods and along the waterways of coastal Rhode Island. His knowledge of the natural world combines with a respect for its power and drama and a fascination with its patterns. From this, he draws his artist’s vision, visible in his abstract photographs as well as in his sweeping, complex landscapes.
Carrie came to painting late, after the death of her mother. Painting gave her focus and a sense of possibility when, at times, it seemed that there was none. In 2008, she walked away from a 22-year career in journalism to make her way as a painter.
