This is a large piece that I made in the studio, from a small piece I made on site. This simple, beautiful church sat in a shining wood, near Pine Bush, NY. Almost no one drove by. The silence was enhanced by the sound of a small stream behind me, and the air was clear and clean, and filled with the scent of autumn. As I painted this larger piece in the studio, the sunshine and sensation came back to me, as clearly as if I'd been standing on the spot. Oil on black canvas, 30x40, $2000 plus shipping.
